I'm also doing the "full" one that goes over the top of the rad.

This one just needs a wee bit of trimming to fit.

Avalible in
Stainless steel, Mirror, polished, Embossed
perspex, acrylic, tinted
aluminium, precoat, embossed or ANODISED!!!
And of course Mild steel to paint whatever colour you like.

Re bled the brakes, can be done in 10mins with wheels still on w/bleed kit.
Wowzers, the difference.. these brakes are a huge improvement so far. Well worth it if you are thinking of upgrading.

Very cool.

Did you have to change the handbrake cables, or do the MK1 ones still suit ?

Also, was it easy to get the handbrake equalised ? I hate messing with the central yoke under the middle of the car but can imagine that it would need that centralised, and then the handbrake lever set up again, and then the adjustment on each caliper as well. Aaaargh

Yeah the mk1 cables went on no probs, slightly shorter though on the caliper lever so need to adjust the handbrake lever (it comes up about 8 clicks now instead 4/5).

Didn't think of checking brake equalization side to side.. bias front to back seems to be the same though.. still plenty of nose dive with fronts locking first.

Hmm.. will look into the equalization, I presume the best way to do this is to put the rear on stands and spin both rears to see if both stop at the same time with the handbrake lever?

yeah, that would get the calipers fairly even

for the hanbrake cables, you're supposed to undo the tension at the handbrake lever, then under the tension at the central yoke, then set the tensions at the caliper like you were saying. Then get the cables tightish at the central yoke, then tighten the handbrake to 4 clicks/etc

I have done the equalisation three times over the years, and failed badly the first time (20/80), great the second time (49/51) and then not so good the most recent time (40/60). Still an MOT pass, but not ideal :)

K, no tension at the lever really at the mo', will see if there is any adjustment at the caliper, didn't see anything like a hex adjuster on these or do you mean by tightening the actual cable nut?

The cable from each caliper needs tensioned at the middle yoke.

Then the single cable from the yoke to the handbrake gets tightened at the handbrake lever (remove the plastic parts around the 'hinge' of the lever and you'll see a vertical hex key thing)

Really you just set the tension going back from the wheels to the handbrake lever rather than the other way around
