Rear Bootlid brakelight wired up as a foglamp!

Postby Stig » Thu, 17 Apr 2008 9:58 +0000

Hi,

I was checking over my new 5' and spotted this and would like your thoughts on it. My jap import Eunos had the bootlid rear brake lamp wired up to work as a fog lamp. It does not operate in conjunction with the brake lights. This was done in the UK for the MOT as there is a nice little retro fitted switch on the dash for the fog lamp.

Question is......will it be ok for the NCT here?

Anyone know anything about this?

Thoughts are appreciated.

Rgds,

Ollie

Pretty sure that its fine for the nct over here mate, some one else will be able to confirm though.
If not it shouldn't be hard to rewire it as the brake light. you will just have to find the brake light wire and swap it with the fog light wire in the boot.
You could always change it back.

I would have thought that if you have a brake light, it would have to work as such for NCT purposes.

As ashley says though it should be an easy enough fix if you know what you're doing.

That said mine hasn't worked for ages. I don't know what I'm doing though. :?
