I'm looking to buy a more modern car than my 1991 Mk1. Have been looking at Mk3 MX5s but I hate the on stilts looks. Was wondering if anyone on here has lowered one a bit, not talking slammed, I'm not 18 but just a wee bit. If so how did that go?

nice, going for a 1.8 or 2lt?
Think I saw a 2lt for sale somewhere last week, I'll have a dig.
The Eibach kit seems to be the most popular springs, drops it by 30mm or so, see here for a before/after :

That's more like it alright. Not fully sure which one to go for Steve. A chat with my Insurers may make that decision for me

In my humble opinion don't buy mk3 mxr unless you either own an oil company or have loads of shillings for an engine every few years. !!!

I've also heard that uprating the anti roll bars will greatly improve the handling in the mk3 using something like these;

Robert seems not to rate the engine and his advice seems never to be too far off the mark so if I were you I'd have a good chat with him before I'd make my decision and he is close to you there in Dublin.
Best of luck with whatever you decide ,must say I like the idea of these !

Yeah still a lot of thinking to do it seems. I'll chat to Robert when I'm getting another radiator for the Mk1

John L if I do change car I have some ideas of what to do with the one I have but you are first person I need to chat to. Don't worry

I have a mk3 and fitted lowering springs, the ride quality is still very good and damping ok. I have the 2.0 and it uses very little oil, about 500 mm in 10k miles, I have heard stories of failures due to low oil though, but not using a lot.

Just seen this post,
I've a MK3 1.8, 2008 and I've lowered with the official Mazda-Eibach springs. The car has lowered arround 1", the handling is a bit better than stock, and the comfort is still OK.
Some shots:

Here the car is fully loaded during our Irish trip

Off Topic (I love that shot)
