Finally spotted one

Postby Pops » Mon, 26 Jun 2017 8:50 +0000

At last I spotted one in torremolinos, just got the phone out in time to take a couple of pictures

Looks like a very nice mk1 but went by too quick (not at speed) for me to look at it and take the pic as well

Must give them praise for having the top down at 34degrees

When I was in Japan a few weeks back I only saw one mk3 and about 5 mk4's.

I'm in France this week - 2 days in so far and no MX5s spotted yet. (Some nice crusty looking Renault 4s around, as well as a few VW busses). In fact last time I was here there were LOADSA old minis driving about, and all is excellent condition (it was as tho there were a mini convention on).

It's great how, when you're away from home how some cars just seem to fit in to their environment. Have seen various models that wouldn't get a second glance at home but here in torremolinos I've started to admire some of the newer models of mainstream cars, the new Renault Megan being one for instance . Have seen a couple of the posher convertibles driving with the roof only 1/2 to 3/4 ways open ! Seems a bit stupid, opened or closed it should be. Also saw a early vw golf's soft top with no back window opening at all just completely mohair . Some boyo driving a mustang around as well, sounds fantastic and he knows it
