Alas, it could do with a wash !! It gets driven less these days since the Mini R53 joined the fleet......

Very nice, how do you find the mohair hood ?. My vinyl hood is as good as impossible to close , it’s as if it shrinks when left folded for the winter.
Have you got the mini added to the classic policy? I got a quote from autoline to add a 2000/2001 , think it was about €250 extra but no increase in mileage allowed

Great photos - they make me want to get out and drive somewhere nice in the MX5. That must be a difficult choice.... the MX5 or the R53!

Pops, I added another car to the MX5 policy with Autoline, and it appears their policy, as you say, is that the cap on mileage remains the same (Tho you can opt to pay more and increase the limit).

Ya that’s probably what convinced me that a mx5 with a hardtop is much the same as any other car so I never went any further.
Sooner I’m out taking a spin the better just like 93 mk1,

@Pops The mohair hood is great. The glass window is a nice addition too. The roof is from a Mk2.5 and I bought it from Robert. One downfall to the mohair roofs I find is that they need more regular cleaning to clean green algae at bay. But it's all good. They don't shrink like vinyl.

@Mrges The R53 belongs to my other half but I'm the one that drives it mainly ! They are a cracking car ! The supercharger whine is addictive.

@Len Post up some pics of your 2.5 when you can. I'd love to see it ! A car I have yet to drive.

Last year, the NCT centre started to fail the car for the offset front number plate so I've gone back to the conforming centre style. Maybe I'm getting lazy
but I think I'll leave it this way permanently now so I don't need to be swapping them every year ! I used double sided tape for a cleaner look so no hole drilling.

I'm glad to say it passed the NCT with no issues/advisories. So I stuck 3 months tax on it and all is good in the world again.......

Looking good, it’s a pity the plate can’t be a bit smaller by 15/20% but I suppose regulations have to be upheld.
Be careful if using a sponge when washing the lower part of the bumper as the edge of the plate will slice your hand with ease

Yeah, it actually covers some of the fog light but not enough to concern me I guess. A slightly smaller size would be ideal alright.
Kevlar gloves for hand washing it is then !!!

That's a great shine on the car. And always a nice feeling when it passes the NCT.

Funny you should mention that - I was thinking of buying a polisher recently. Something for handy money though....a lot of them are €€€.
