Supercharger rattles

The slk supercharger was making fairly serious rattling noises and very noticeable when cold, so as its declared off the road I thought I might try servicing it.

Not as hard as it looks to remove it

Boost chamber and pipes removed, seems to be a lot of engine oil in it

Removed the snout, all looks OK


14ml of oil in the snout and it stinks something terrible

It did leak some more oil when it was dismantled so I'd say there was a max of 16ml in it, it's supposed to have 150ml

All looks good but the circular coupler has play on one side


New coupler and oil, enough oil left over to be able to change it again if needed

All done now and no rattles thankfully

BTW, there is a mod to remove the internal baffle plate too if you fancy louder superchargery sounds
