Car chase scenes

Postby mx5ash » Tue, 05 Aug 2008 10:13 +0000

Watched vantage point a while ago and thought the car chase scene was pretty bloody good.
Favourite still has to be in Ronin.
So what's your favourite?

Yeah, that's right, he did. But the best thing about the whole scene was there was no other sound effects, just the pure roar of the mustang

The one thing that ruined it for me with Vantage point was the fact that they used Opel Astras.. I mean they were in Italy were't they, they surely could have organised product placement with Alfa instead????? The Astras looked so shite, and they put in all this extra sound effects to make them sound like they have v8's in em... Daft..

To date, Ronin for me too... Nobodies done a chase in a five yet?

checkout rendezvous, its a french short from the early 70's.

A film maker had 10mins of film left after a shoot and bet a friend (formula one driver) that he couldnt do a 40min trip through the centre of paris in under 10mins, so the straped the camera to the front of a 275GTB and off the went, its well worth a watch. the film maker clude lelouch was arrested after the film was screened but he never gave up the driver. availabe on the usual file sharing sites.

Yeah, seen rendezvous. Pretty good piece of film. Snow Patrol used the footage for the video to "Open your eyes" Not a chase scene though, unfortunately :( :(

an Oldie, but a Goodie ( like meself really)

The French Connection

Not so much a car chase as a car chasing a train

Check it out if you get a chance

It wasn't actually a Ferrari, it was a mercedes & the filmmaker dubbed the soundtrack on afterwards, I can't actually remember how I learnt this, but I know it was faked.
