I was gonna convert the two seats from my mk1 into gaming seats, what with the built-in speakers, but managed to sell them . They're very comfy.

Thats some job Steve! I take it you have a heated garage? ;-)

Installed new window motor + mechanism, the old one was jammed solid.

Far from it Steve out in the cold during the day and in front of the fire at night.

Done today :

Completed underlaying.
Tidied remaining wiring, lights on buzzer, central locking and starter button

Going to run power supply to behind the radio for easy access in future.

Discovered upper boot is split only changed it 3 years ago. And that hole above the footwell which was leaving in water.

Update from today:

Carpet drying overnight.

Carpet laying.
Image

I hope this fits.
Image

Success!!!! All the fittings are bagged and labelled ready to go in.
Image

Centre console and speedo fitted.
Image

Rear carpet fitted with new Halfords carpet clips
Image

Hmmm way too much time on my hands.
Image

Complete!
Image

Still to do replace indicator stalk struggling with remove boss. And replace rear view mirror struggling with the fitting of this also.
Also need to fit seats.

I threw in my gaming seat just for a look. Got me thinking.

It's actually really easy the hardest part is the wiring especially If you've added things without considering where you're routing them.

I bagged and labelled everything so I didn't mix them up. Chuffed with it inside smells of febreeze. Lol.
Has to be the most thorough valet ever. :)

Drove it today and wow it's super quiet. Im delighted with it. Seats were a tight fit with the underlay. All in all it's very snug.

Found what i thought was a gearbox leak. Was a CAS o ring . 4 bolts , 12mm spanner , timing light, paper clip, and some brake cleaner . 20 minutes.Oh , and a new o ring.......from a set i bought 10 years ago and used 3 times.

Got front polybushes in with grease nipples but nearly froze so tracking can wait.

Couldn't start the 5, battery was almost ice + frozen to the cables/floor!?
Have it inside defrosting/trickle charging.
