Hi, Charlie Waters from Mazda popped me an email this morning to say he'll bring along the new MX5 to Cherrywood C&C on the 6th of Sept if people want to have a look/poke at it. Here it was in Galway on Wednesday : unnamed12.jpg SteveYou do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

 Hey all,
I thought I would drop in and say hi. The first of the all-new MX-5's has landed in Ireland and I wanted to give you guys a chance to see it in the flesh.

I have our press car booked out for C&C for the 6th September in Cherrywood. Anyone who wants to come have a look please feel free to come down and have a sneak peak.

As a bit of a bonus I would like to invite you all to post up pictures of your MX-5's on Twitter and tag @Mazda_Ireland and #ReasonsToDrive

We will have a look at the pictures here in the office and determine which one is the best for you to be in a chance to go out for a spin on the day at Cherrywood.

Without sounding too corporate, certain terms and conditions will apply (full drivers license, 25 years old+ etc) but nothing out of the ordinary.

I look forward to seeing your tweets and don't forget to tag @Mazda_Ireland and #ReasonsToDrive

Not around for it this month sadly, great-looking cars in the metal though! Saw them at Goodwood - I'd love a spin in one as even the 1.5s are pretty quick compared to 5s of old allegedly. MX5 Enthusiast

There was both a red and a white one there, I entered the twitter 'competition' to get a test spin, never heard a word back from Mazda, pretty poor form to be honest, I hope someone got a spin in one of them..

I got a spin in the white one. I was surprised how quick it was for a 1.5. The interior is class. Ride quality really good, would prefer it a little stiffer myself but that would make it less comfortable on the road everyday. Gearshift perfect as expected. Steering a little too light, prefer my mk1 steering. Hard to beat in for fun/cost really.
