I don't believe you Steve.....I want to see photos as proof or it didn't happen ! :D :D :D (You know we love photos on here !)

That looks great, no hint of different shades or polish residue. Expensive?

That's a fantastic finish - brought the colour out really well, very smooth, and deep, looking. I'm sure you're pleased.

No residue found yet, he did tape it all up before starting so that saved the black trim. No different shades in the daylight but some panels don't match at night in the right light as they were painted by different people. They price based on condition of paint, in around ball park of 200-300e for an MX5.

Yeah I'm delighted with it. Actually I'm stunned that a) it came up so well and b) that my polishing skills are so far off the mark :D

Not sure how new they are, I heard about them after asking about someone's paint at Galway's Cars & Coffee. These 2 cars actually :

Way better photos of these cars if you scroll down on this page :

The owner is usually there with either a Jim Beam 5 series and/or a 3 series touring.

have had a knocking noise, it was making the knock sensor go bananas (which retards the ignition timing), traced it to the downpipe clamp hitting the front subframe.

Easy enough fix, loosen the clamp a bit, hit it with a hammer until its out of the way, retighten.

Also gave that brake pipe a rub with a wire brush, will dinitrol/krust it later in the week.

*edit* Took it for a drive, the knock is gone but a buzzing that was going on at a certain rpm is worse - gah.

Decided to change the gear lever small and large shift boots and the nylon cup.

The boots on mine were all torn and the cup was cracked. The worst bit though was no oil at all in the tunnel!!

It felt like there had been some before. I couldn't find a leak, I'm sure it will be fine but I'll keep an eye on it.

Only have coolant and brake fluid to change and then that's all fluids replaced.

Coming on great Carl - and all this talk of oil in the tunnel.... I never knew that was a 'thing' either. Guess I need to check mine too (tho I am unaware of any heat coming thru).

Yep it's coming together slowly.
Never heard of the oil in it like that.
Did notice heat the first time I drove it alright.
Hopefully it won't get as warm now.
