booked car in for Monday week to get one of the exhaust manifold bolt holes fixed (its stripped and so exhaust is leaking), have the flexi joint in the downpipe replaced, redundant 4 wire O2 sensor removed and a bung put in, downpipe to turbo flange rewelded (its not gone yet but it wouldn't be long), several head studs replaced and all the fixings (turbo to manifold nuts, turbo to downpipe bolts) replaced. Discovered last week that the CAS is leaking so picked up a new o-ring for that too.

out for a blast in the sun yesterday, popped into Galway's C&C, nice selection of cars there, most on their last run before winter I reckon.

I hate leaving stuff laid up over winter (or for any length of time !) but I think this winter might be a necessary evil. Now, where to store it......

Not yet Graham but I think I'll go for that Autolink item and see how that works out.

Nope... bought the emblems cheap of someone in the UK. . They were purple i painted them silver. I gutted the originals, flattened out the wire mesh and sprayed black, glued back in and aligned the emblem with the outer cover. I'm going to get a chrome paint and repaint the emblems so they match the outer cover.. cheap mod.

Niiiice Len - with the weather as it was today I went for a decent spin too (took the car to work). Great to have a MX5 with his kinda weather. On the way back I spotted a grey (161) mk4 on the Athlone bypass, around 4 oclock.

As above - took it to work today (took the long route) - and what a great day. The photo was taken at 4.30, roof down, hat on, and happy as a pig in muck! If this keeps up there might be no need for the hard too this winter! Screenshot_20181022-172513_Gallery.jpg

what have I done? Nothing... turbo/downpipe/manifold/etc is out of the car and ready for assembly... unfortunately my mechanic has had a bad hand injury (was in hospital for a week... I think is now a partial digit down), I've told him it isn't a priority and will call him in a few weeks to see how things are.
