Checked out the new 30th Anniversary edition. Some very nice touches, including the gorgeous alcantara Recaro interior.

Fabulous looking cars, as you say though, lotto win needed.
Wonder what insurance would cost on one

I looked into it previously and I think the premium was okay. I can't remember the figure though ! The motor tax on the 1.5 is €280 per annum. The black car can be bought for €29k. The orange 30AE costs ~ €42k.

A quick quote, couldn’t find the anniversary edition but tried something similar, 2019 cabriolet recaro 2litre €42k, 59yo 9+ yrs ncb, it’s probably worth paying the extra €2 for comprehensive

Savage price in Ireland compared to the UK

Currency converter suggests about €31k so our government gets a good chunk out of it

Both lovely looking cars - would take either (tho as said previously, that orange has the potential to hurt my eyes!). And 13k difference.... someone is (literally) laughing all the way to the bank. You can certainly see the appeal of imports in some cases.

With the difference in price you could buy probably buy a MK1, MK2 and MK3, and have a complete collection!

I think the quote that I got for insurance was half that. That was for the 1.5 but I didn't there would be that much difference between the two !

An Australian reviewers opinion , $50k Aussie dollars still equals about €30k, how our government loves car buyers
