Good evening all......

Postby mrges » Tue, 09 Sep 2008 11:41 +0000

Hello to all the MX5 fanatics on the forum - old and newbies alike! I trust all are well.

I haven't disappeared off the face of the earth, jsut ended up having a busier summer than I expected. After the hols there were folk who came to stay, then went on a number of "tours" to different parts of Ireland (Ennis, Cliffs of Moher; Kilkenny; Waterford; Giants Causeway etc.....but alas not in the "5" as the family were in tow). This was interspersed (sp?) with "connectivity issues" - ie. no broadband for a few days (seemed it died whilst I was on holidays).

Anyway, enough idle chat - I see things have been busy on the forum, there are LOADSA unread posts to get through........I may just put a line below them and start reading afresh (although I did take a quick look at the Midlands run - seemed another great run, and what a turn out). Ollie, I'm sure you were pleased with the way it went. Also took a quick peek at the "Silent Valley" run that Ivan and Frank took, and got stuck in a detour through Wicklow!!!

As the weather was generallly sh1te over the summer, I only got a few runs to work in the 5, but they were sooooooo enjoyable. Had a bit of time to surf today and found this, under the heading of:

Top 10: fuel efficient performance cars

Mazda MX-5
Can't afford a Lotus? Then how about one of these. Another defining motor of the past several years, not only should the Mazda MX-5 be praised for reinvigorating the flagging small roadster sector, but also because it has managed to remain fuel efficient and fun with it. An icon that leads the way.

The entry-level 1.8i roadster will currently set you back just £15,750, and officially averages 38.7mpg. That's some cheap open-air entertainment - even before you get to the other MX-5 ownership benefits. Like its class-free status, group 11 insurance, and the simple fact that it will probably never break down.

C y'all later,

Graham.

Welcome back Graham.

Missed the midland run myself

You hardly need to attend a tech day , what with the mk3 and all that , but you will see on the runs thread that we are having a little? get together on 27th..feel free to come along for a visit..you could use the excuse that you are dropping your partner to the Blanchardstown shopping centre for a little while, then nip around to Ivans place :? :?

That's what I'm planning anyway
