Removed aircon Depowered steering rack Fitted hydro handbrake Fitted poly diff bushes Stripped interior
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?
Is it a big job removing the air con? When I go turbo I'm going to be looking for a bigger rad also, and might want the extra room.
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?It was handier than i thought but i done it on a mk1 im only after buying for the track but would assume its simillar on a mk2
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Whats the steering like now?
The perfection of a Car's beauty is that nothing should be there for beauty's sake.
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Feels very heavy when stopped or slow but feels alot better when moving fast can feel the road alot better
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Removing the air con is quicker than you think, you can easily fit a intercooler in with the a/c rad too.
I have to say I think the power steering in the mk1 is the best in any car I have driven. Its one of the best parts of the car, mine see's a lot of track action too.
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Ya i only removed mine because im planning on a few drift days and want to fit extra lock aswel which i have head will fuck up the seals in the rack. I had the car out a few weeks ago in a big yard seeing how it would go and ended up covering the front end of the engine bay in power steering fluid out of the resivior.
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?that make sense, overflowing p/s fluid is common when on track. I keep my resevoir at the min and it still boils. A bigger cooling loop could solve the problem too. Extra lock sounds good, especially for drifting.
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Ya hopefully it works out now because the mx5 seems to hit the standard full lock very easy
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?did you loop the lines and remove the seals?
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?I followed this tutorial on flyingmiata. Its was alot easier than i thought it was going to be http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/depower.php
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?All very well but they didn't weld up the valve on the pinion shaft so your gonna have a wee bit of play remaining.
To do it properly you must do this.......... http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/ ... -Rack.aspx The perfection of a Car's beauty is that nothing should be there for beauty's sake.
![]() Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Awh it will do me for the time being see how this goes now mite do this later on
