Fitting Front Fogs to face lifted MX 5 2.5

Postby Paschal » Sat, 27 Dec 2008 12:13 +0000

Ordered these fog lamps a number of weeks back but only getting around to fitting them today. Some bits missing but should have enought to go on. The fitting instructions are s*!te but we will manage. However, the fitting instructions suggest taking the positive power from the "bolt on the power line to the starter motor". Where is this bolt, what should I be looking for?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

No problem Ollie, I am sure someone will know how to power them. Got them fitted, took my time. Look great, all I need to do now is light them! I tried a temp supply from the battery but all I achieved was a "cooked" reley so a trip to the Motor factors is now needed.

BTW Ollie, interested in a local "run" tomorrow, might head down Laois way, bump into you, if it suits?

Be sure to put an inline fuse between the battery power line and your lights ;-)

Theres a blue connector over on the airbox side of the engine bay with "always on" 12v.

Heres the wiring diagram for a '99, it should be more or less the same :

Steve, is that power source always on even after you turn off the ignition?
Reason I ask, is i'm going to fit a set of DRL's to the front of my 5 and if that power point was ignition liked it'd be real handy!
