Indicator Issues

Postby fabfiveferg » Wed, 14 Jan 2009 11:51 +0000

I have a problem with my indicator (drivers side) that raised it's head yesterday. The front indicator and the dash light are flashing at about twice the usual rate and the rear light is not flashing at all. (much angry beeping when I'm turning right brought my attention to that one)

Any ideas where I should start. Is it likely to be a relay or a fuse or something like that?

Sorry for the silly question, I'm very poor when it comes to the electrics

Just whip in a new bulb dude. You can pick one up in most petrol stations, they're a fairly generic type.

Sweet. That's exactly what I wanted to hear. Didn't realise the bulb would cause the quick repeat as well. Duh.

Yeah it would since there is one less bulb filament offering resistance in the circuit you would get additional current going to the remaining components

Hi,

I've a similar problem, but intermittent - when turning right, my indicator (inside) occasionally sounds really fast for a second or two, before returning to normal. It never lasts long enough for me to get out & look at the bulbs.

I reckon it's a bad connection to a bulb and one of these days I'll take each RHS bulb out & examine them all.

One day.
No more Mk1, now driving an '08 Mk3. Still fun!
