You can get different types of bushes, the Super Pro ones rotate rather than the "polybush", the orange ones that MX5Parts sell that are just a different hardness than the rubber ones.

When I changed my suspension I had a thread just strip on the top of a new Koni damper. The nut siezed in position rendering the top plate and mounting rubers captive etc. It took me a week to get a new one too.
