IoM 2009 - Final Dates!!!! 19/06/09 - 22/06/09

Postby Cloggy » Mon, 02 Feb 2009 1:26 +0000

This is what I received from Brian Convery (Sales Manager of IoM Steam Packet Holidays)

DUB – IoM: Fri 19/06/09, 14:00hrs
IoM – DUB: Mon 22/06/09, 13:45hrs

Mount Murray > = €239 per person based on two people sharing twin/double room (Foot Passengers + Hotel). The ferry supplement for a car is €90 so if there are two people in the car the per person price is €284 all in.
€ 284 includes return ferry plus 3 nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis.

Hilton > = €290 per person based on two people sharing twin/double room. Price includes return ferry plus 3 nights accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis. (Foot Passengers + Hotel) The ferry supplement for a car is €90 so if there are two people in the car the per person price is €335 all in.

Bookings can be made through Steam Packet Holidays by telephone on 1800 523177 or by e mail info@steampacketholidays.com.
- Email subject: MX5 IoM 2009
- Sailing from: (Liverpool, Dublin, Belfast, Heysham, etc)
- Pricing in: EURO or GBP

Payment can be made over the telephone by credit card (€4 card fee per booking) or debit card without any card fee.

A deposit of €52 per person is taken at the time of booking with the balance being due 6 weeks prior to departure.

MY PERSONAL NOTES:
Mount Murray is a country club 'in the middle of nowhere' very private and very safe for parking.
There is a bar, etc and we could take a mini bus into Douglas if we want/need. I prefer this purely considering the safe parking conditions.
I've booked the Mount Murray.

Seems I've missed not just an episode, but a full series here.... what happened to April (thought dates were fixed)... and to the big MX anniversary gathering?.... Confused Co. Clare!

It turned out to be a nightmare due to new IoM transport authority requirements and no support from Mazda :( . Too little time left to turn it into a massive event. So we decided with the organising committee to just go ourselves and email all the other clubs & see if they want to tag along.

PLEASE NOTE: I have not made any bookings either on the ferry or in the hotels at this time. I will wait to hear from you if you are happy with the pricing and I will need an indication of numbers so that I can hold an allocation of rooms at your chosen hotel and spaces on the ferry.

I might be looking for an extra seat. Anyone ok for a passenger?

Here the plan of attack...
:D Friday:
- Arrive on the Island and make our way to the 'Country Club' + ja'uzzi + drinkies in the bar or downtown Douglas. http://www.mountmurray.com/

8) Saturday part 1 - Green Route 65km:
- Going north anti clock-wise, along Baldwin Lake http://www.isle-of-man.com/manxnotebook/exans/prt_1906.htm, Tynwald (oldest parliament in the world) http://www.tynwald.org.im, having lunch in Castletown Golf Club (on the tip in the south east)

 Saturday part 2 - Blue Route 60km:
- Clock-wise round the TT course http://www.ttwebsite.com/map.php + ja'uzzi

 8) Sunday - Red Route 132 km:
- Going round the Island anti clock-wise with stops such as: Douglas Promenade, The Laxey Wheel, Ramsey, Peel Castle, Port Erin (where Jeremy Clarkson lives), The Sound, Castletown... + ja'uzzi

 :D  Monday:
(quick ja'uzzi +) Home sweet home
