On my 1992 1.6 it was the black one that i replaced. the grey one is on the back of the engine.

Car shouldn't be shaky! Are you sure all the plugs are firing?

The thermostat sensor is ONLY for activating the Rad fan it shouldn't affect the idle.

Check to see if you have any leaks along the intake system it sounds like she's drawing air bypassing teh MAF sensor .

It's was only rocking for a bit, it was probably caused by some oil that had leaked after I removed the plug, it settled down after a second restart...
