Petrol Gauge reading half full ------

Postby Kilkenny Cat » Wed, 21 Oct 2009 11:32 +0000

Hi Everyone----Well i finally got my 5 into her newly built garage but i seem to have a small problem can anyone help----????
I just noticed that the fuel gauge is registering half full while the car is standing and everything is switched off.
Just wondering is this normal or should it go back to zero when car is switched off like any other.

Any ideas boys or girls appreciated

Thanks
Pat

As I sit here I can't remember whether the needle drops or not on switching off the ignition
You're obviously an optimist because if you were a pessimist you'd be declaring that the needle was showing the tank half-empty  .
Will double check mine later, although someone else will probably have your question answered before I get back to you 8)
