Early 1.6 Exhaust back section needed

Postby JPW » Sat, 25 Sep 2010 9:25 +0000

Hope you don't mind me posting this here, please move if you're not happy with it. I'm going for max traffic for a couple of days but would be very much in favour of moving to wanted section once weekend and Monday morning browsers have seen it :D.

Need the above as the pipe came away at the silencer today and fell off (this incident may have been an influencing factor ). I've mailed Traynors. Anyone got other breaker recommendations?

Or indeed have you upgraded in the past and do you have the old one lying about? Or something?

Thanks for looking!

Traynors can be pricey lad but there are loads of others that you can mail and they usually come up trumps..........

Have one, based in Newbridge Co Kildare , I'm on 087-2656053. It's not an original, its a PICO exhaust that has been modded to fit the mk1, €50 collected?

Now that sounds probably ideal. Will this take any more skill (I'm not overburdened with the stuff) to fit than a standard one?

Will call you shortly, hopefully see you in the next day or two. Thanks!

Sorry Dave. I just saw this. I'm probably going to be quite close to Newbridge again at some point in the next few days. If it happens, I'll see if I can pay LJ a visit again.

Hey J,

PM me your details and I'll get the cash down to you. I got the exhaust on last night with some major assistance from a mate.

We had to bend the pipe in 3 different places and were frankly a bit baffled by the whole thing but it went on just fine in the end with some coaxing, cajoling, serious heat and brute force, not least because the extra join on your pipe fouled my rear subframe . When I got home, the reason dawned on me.

I had taken the cat off the exhaust to be able to fit it in the MX and drive to his garage. And we stuck the remains of the exhaust to the end of the existing cat. I haven't measured yet cos the missus has the car at work but I'd put money on the cats being different sizes.

Anyway, we did the work in Prosperous and I had every intention of dropping the cash in to you. But it was a bit late when we finished. So Paypal it is!

Thanks again!

Jeremy
