What did you do to your MX5 today ?
Good idea ![]()
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Yeah nipples are the way. Got the rears done but learned alot about why people have problems with them. When the bushings are pushed in and the crush tube inserted, i could see if there was a gap between the bushing halves which there should be to allow grease to travel round and so that the bush will stay fully in under load. Also , you need a big washer on the ends of the long bolts on the rear lower outers to stop the bushing coming out. Rear is class now and feels well planted.
The perfection of a Car's beauty is that nothing should be there for beauty's sake.
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?collect and fitted new hard top. what a differance it makes. it really makes it an year round car, even the radio sounds better
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?...got a pleasant suprise from my garage out in Ashbourne (Wards/Texaco Service Station)...
After getting home from Everest (love dropping that in...) I found my battery was flat.. got it going, but it died again after horse-riding on Sat (there she goes again).. got it going again, and then last night the alarm started sadly chirping at me - yes it was gone again. Texted the garage late last night - and on their advice disconnected the battery until this morning, then got it going again and went out to them. Garage was closed, petrol station opened, but they were ready for me - fitted new battery, topped up the oil... and didn't charge me a penny. They'd replaced the battery earlier in the year, and figured they'd take it on the chin. Now that's service.. Also got to say thanks to the RAC... their patience - and the prettiness of their mechanics - go a long way towards making me a very happy girly motorist..!! Climbed Elbrus, Island Peak, Kilimanjaro, Elgon, Everest BC, Mulhacen, Elgon, Kayaked the Liffey to the Nile, swam the Liffey, the Lee & packed ten triathlons into a year... catch me blogging on: http://www.teenagates.com

Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Got new rear tyres fitted Bridgestone ER300 Turanza.
What did you do to your MX5 today ?Fitted the exhaust last night, bloody he'll it's so much better. Much smoother acceleration. That old exhaust must have been smothering the car. Sound gorgeous too.
