roll bar or cage wanted

hi im looking for a proper roll bar,not beauty bars.

a proper roll bar or cage for a bit of motor sport use im planning on doing.

i have a roco cage which is welded into my mx5 i just bought it was in prodrift this year so is up to standard i dono if ur aware of roco but he has built cages for nascar teams in the u.s hes very very good. the cage was 1000 8 months ago ima bet cutting the welds in a while and it will be for sale includes door bars id have a price of around 500 or so on it im undecided yet. i think i have a buyer but il know in a week if he doesnt take it u might be interested

but sadly way over spec and price for me,im just looking for a roll bar style item (hoop behind seats,and legs onto rear shelf)

would love it,but the car im putting it into cost me less than half of that .

Just to avoid confusion, are you looking for a style bar or a roll bar? as the above seems to contradict itself. In general, style bars just fix between the seat belt pillars whereas a roll bar would have the added strengthening in being braced to the parcel shelf.

hi john,its a roll bar im looking for.

ive put up another wanted ad,have a look,i put it up earlier.

its arear roll bar,that bolts to the floor behind the seats,it comes up and over the eat tops,there then is two big tubes go from the top down to the rear carpet area,again bolted with big plates.

in some cases people weld these as there known "half cages" into the car.

look up tr lane,a uk maker of these roll bars,also a u.s.a company called mad dog.

so no im not after beauty bars,there show only,what i want is a proper roll bar for compitision work.

have you seen what happens when you roll a mx5 .

Gotcha, a half-cage is what you're after then. Hmm, can't say I've seen too many come up here for sale but good luck with the search.

no i dont think il get offered one.

have had a few offers of the full cage,side bars etc.

its just the back one i need,keeps the car usable for herself to drive from time to time.

have 2 road going mx5s,this mariner blue car just a bit of gas to get into lite motor sport,i used to use a old triumph 2000 the last few years for these trials and nite navigations
