Welding Frame Rails Near Fuel Lines

Postby rhysmate » Wed, 04 Sep 2013 4:55 +0000

I failed nct on a small rust hole on the frame rail.

if i run the lines dry while the relay is out and disconnect the lines from the tank and the engine, will i be safe to weld near them ? i cant see why not but anybody else with experience on this might comment?

Wouldn't bother me to much but neither does mig welding. Drain the lines, and get them well clear. To be save have extinguishers at hand. Don't do it alone and plan escape route.
