Coil PackLooking for a coil pack for a 2001 1.6.
ive an intermittant miss at low revs and need to rule out the coil pack. You som'bitches couldn't close an umbrella
Re: Coil PackWe should have one but you need to look at the plug on it and see how many terminals are on it .There are about 5 different types .Some are 3 pins in 3 pin block ,some are 3 pins in 4 pin block ( 1 blank space) etc Look at the actual coil plug rather than the wiring further out . 086 8226506
Re: Coil PackHi Rob, my coil pack has 6 pins and 6 wires into the coil pack. 2 red, 2 black, a green and a blue.
I got leads from you recently but they didnt sort out the problem, in the dark i can see them arcing off the rocker cover so i replaced them with a new set but still having an intermittant miss. Will you let me know if you have a suitable coil pack, and if so at what cost, pm me if ye like. thanks mick You som'bitches couldn't close an umbrella
Re: Coil PackCan you look at the pins on the actual coils rather than the loom
Re: Coil PackWill do, ive been putting off removing the coil cause its so cold out at nite, i also think ive found a posible cause for the hesitation and its not electrical, but i still might get a set of coils incase im wrong.

Re: Coil Packgo on tell us.......
The perfection of a Car's beauty is that nothing should be there for beauty's sake.

I noticed that when i unscrew the fuel cap to fill the car the intake of air was substantial, and afterwards the car seemed to run well, and this got me thinking. ages ago i had removed the carbon canister and its associated piping, except for the metal line comming from the tank, which i blocked off. so i started to think the bloked pipe might be messing up the fueling and unblocked it, and so far so good. if this is indeed the cause all i have to do now is vent the pipe away from the engine bay, i probably could still use the purge solinoid to do this. Re: Coil PackThe fuel canister vents the tank vapours so this is the problem. You should not have vacuum at the filler neck otherwise you can get fuel starvation .I have seen loads of mk2 escorts with tank vents in the boot but remember your battery is in the boot so that's not a good idea for mx.Try external vent maybe or leave fuel cap off or loose for a few days and see what happens
Re: Coil Packwhen you remove the canister should be looping the metal lines rather than blocking them.
see step 5 & 6 photos here : http://sevenstarleaf.wordpress.com/2013 ... r-removal/

I knew the charcoal canister vented the fuel vapour, but i wasnt sure about the vacum at the filler, thanks for that info, it explains my mistake.
i had looped the lines originally, but they termoinated into a plastic nipple that was venting to air in the subframe, i can easilly re-fit this and hopefully problem solved. Thanks lads Fao Mods, pleae feel free to move this or delete it if you see fit, thanks You som'bitches couldn't close an umbrella
