Hi Hazel,
Is it a constant noise or sort of like an on/off on/off rubbing etc ?
I'd go with the rebuilding kits and DIY painting myself because it's an easy job to do and the paint will last longer, best to do all four but the two rear's are usually the most known pack up before the fronts go.
Where are you based ? Maybe somebody could give your car a quick check if they are near you.

I've gotten parts from Rob before and he get's a thumbs up from me :)
No need for heat resistant paint unless your going to be having your car on a track or just want the 'crinkle' look on them. A good acrylic paint works just the same or even 'Hammerite'. It's the prep work done on the calipers and the base Primer coat that counts ;)

Thumbs up for Robert from me too. Big thumbs up to you to Fergus for your offer to rebuild brakes for someone. That's what you call a favour. If you do have a tech day maybe you could do a how to on reconditioning and painting for those of us a bit far from Cork for a day trip....
