Grand, I expect to be paying a few visits up your way over the summer, let's meet up on at least one of them! Will let you know when it's happening...regards to Mary.

Keep a very close eye on the oil level in those cars , I think one of the "mods" owners do is to replace the dip stick on the mk3 for one from the Later 3.5 as it is apparently easier to read , I don't know this for a fact or even the part number as I don't own a mk3 so would be worth hearing it from somebody else , a post on here or on nutz referring to this would be well worth it
Best of luck with it
Brian

Thanks Brian, it has a tendency to drink a savage amount of oil alright. Currently on weekly checks, if not a daily one when the journey is 100+km at 100kmph - but it's all worth it :)

The K&N makes a massive difference in terms of performance and sound too should anyone else on here be considering one...

I'm hoping to change the oil next week, and had the chance to go to the local motor factors this afternoon to pick up oil/filter, so dropped the roof and set of....... and what a glorious afternoon it was...... then 3 hours (and 234km) later I returned back with 5 litres of 10W-40! That drive alone made it worthwhile having the MX5 ☺

(BTW, local motor factors is 15km away).

Fitted new EBC front pads and trying freeing sticky front caliper. Also fitted set KYB AGX adjustable shocks with 30mm lowering Eibach springs.Slightly more harsh /stiff on the road with settings at 5 on the shocks so I may lower stiffness to maybe 3 and see what happens.

Also got rear exhaust replaced with quieter twin exit one.Much better to drive now and neighbours cant hear me for mile down the road .Looks nice too.

Went to Mondello yesterday, first time to give the turbo mk1 a real blast, 'twas only the national circuit but I had a ball..oil return line decided to part company going through the S's but I was lucky in that I was right beside a pit-lane access point so they didn't need to stop the event for an oil clean up.... Jayzus me underside is now a complete mess... Waited for 45 mins and as soon as it cooled down I refitted the little ba**ard.... Must look at a different arrangement, my line is only fixed to a downpipe with a jubilee clip, I suspect that with the harder driving a combination of heat and pressure caused the hose to slip off... It was great to do a trackday and not be the one constantly getting passed by the rest of the group.... haha

Washed and de-tar and then went for a top down blast round some of our back roads. God I love these little cars.

Whoops! What made you realise it had popped off? Billowing smoke?
Did it come off on the turbo end? Is yours going into the sump or around and in by the port on the intake side of the engine?
Also, what type of line are you using? There should be little if any pressure in the return line really unless its blocked.

Today I changed the timing belt, water pump, auxiliary belts, cam cover gasket, crank and cam seals, spark plugs, oil and finally an oil filter. All genuine mazda parts. Big day...... phew I'm wreaked.
