Washing any car is a nightmare with the weather we've been having: the water/suds just dry off too quick. I usually do it in the evening or early morning before it gets too hot. A large microfibre towel is the job for drying of car at the end. I bought a clay bar kit recently but haven't used it yet. A job for a dull day !

I bought it as a modified greddy kit from a guy in Sweden who had it in his mx5 engined caterham/westfield. Ive since changed most of it ;-)
If I was doing it again I'd buy the parts individually, so many sources these days.

It's not difficult to install, all just nuts and bolts. The ECU is probably the most involved, a little bit of study/wiring required. If you are staying at 5/6psi there no need for that even.

Regarding the ECU, I was reading up on that. It would seem that the ME221 is the new kid on the block. From what I can gather, it even fits in the original ECU casing. It isn't cheap though: ~ £600. Maybe when I add up the cost, I'll get sense and refrain !!

yeah, if I was changing ECU it would be a toss up for the ME221 or Megasquirt (as it has so much support online).

IMO, get a wideband O2 sensor, see how it runs without aftermarket ECU first. At 5/6psi the stock ECU should be fine especially if you fit 1.8 injectors.

Suds or scum seemed to have buried their way into the paint
Lesson learnt, don’t leave suds on the car in the sunshine.
Stuff I used was simoniz shampoo & shine, pretty thick stuff but I thought maybe a cap full in the bucket of warm water should have been ok. Maybe if I used Graham’s method of a wash mitt I mightn’t have left it like I did , anyway , live and learn

Great stuff, might have to have you look at mine... the paint has suffered recently.

Well, back on the road today. Nearly forgot how nice the car is to drive but when an opel corsa pulls up beside you is when you realize how vulnerable you are.
Steve I’ve got a polisher you can borrow if needed
