Some mates & I (Wayne included, for those who were at the Galway run in April) go every year rally driving in Monaghan. It's serious fun and you'll be worn out from flying round a track and the constant adrenaline rush.

You'll learn hand brake turns, drifting, high speed cornering and going seriously fast around a track. This year we're going on the Sat. 4th of October and it always turns into a weekend event. We're at the moment with 6.
The package we're taking this year is 4 sessions with the Ford Escort MkII + 2 sessions with the Subaru Impreza (a very good lunch + unlimited tea & coffee is included). Regular price € 445, our price so far € 410 p/p which is not too bad considering the instructors push you to your limits to the stage you'll wreck their cars (instead of your own) + the andrenaline rush you'll get lasts a year.
Fancy coming along and turn it into a MX5 Rally weekend. Just let me know and send the rally school an email referring that you are part of the party: "4th of October from Robin van de Ven" to obtain special discount.

I can accomodate a few people in my house for the Friday evening for those who are interested.

No can do Cloggy, September and October are two months where my finances are fu**ed what with back to school and Christmas in the offing.
Maybe earlier in the season next year??

That sounds f++king brilliant. Perfect training for a potential nurburgring blast. for now I am a Yes...but Oct is way to far ahead for me to plan so is there a "closing date" when we have to sign up by.

I know they only take 30 pax/day. We're with 6 at the moment + it can be that other groups/individuals are booking in (that's what usually happens).
Everytime I've been it was full on the day...
Maybe send them a mail and check it out.

Yes I did that Rally School weekend a few years ago and it was an absolute BLAST and I would highly recommend it...........alas I have loads of bills later in the year (esp back -to -school stuff !!) and dont see myself having 400 + yoyos to spare..

Some day though I will do that again.. fond memories of hand shaking adrenalin going around the track .
