Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?About forty mins, but I'd allow for double that if first time. Can write up a quick how-to/step by step if you are going to do it, just v.basic tools needed.

Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?
When you take out the unit under the dash ( a bast*rd job having to remove and then replace the dash), you'll need to fabricate a ducting for the air between the blower and the heater assembly, across the gap left by the removal of the a/c unit. Im not 100% sure, but do you have to adjust sensors or something in relation to the ecu once you remove the aircon?? John
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?just gonna take the condensor thing out of its housing and tape all up john. Dont think ecu is affected. There is soo much removed at this stage that i'll be running points ignition soon ,,,,,,

If you want to see the condenser unit before tackling it, I have one in my garage. J
Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?Passed the Nct with flying colours. If it had any lower emissions it would actually be good for the environment!!!!

Re: What did you do to your MX5 today ?
No need to remove the dash on a mk1, you can take out the glovebox (2 screws) then undo a couple of bolts and it comes out with a bit of twisting. I replaced it with the pipe from a non-import (ordered it from Mazda, can have a look for the part number if you need it). Cheers, Steve
